Pico
is a simple, display-oriented text editor based on the Pine message
system composer. Pico is very simple to use and offers features such as
paragraph justification, cut/paste, spelling checker, search and
replace, etc. Pico doesn’t have as many features as some other popular
Linux text editors (such as vi), but it is not that complex.
Pico is not truly open source, and most Linux distributions don’t even include Pico as a text editor. In fact, Ubuntu even links the command pico to the program for the nano editor.
